Make the spawn claim in the nether smaller

I've noticed in nation 2's nether spawn point, it's extremely difficult to get out of the spawn and start building/mining. From what I've seen, we have only one area where we can walk and begin building/mining, the rest are surrounded by lava (and we aren't able to build). I'm not sure if this would be beneficial for the other nations, but if we could at least get some type of bridge out to where we can build, that would be extremely helpful.
What are the benefits of your suggestion for the server?
It would let players have better access to all directions of the mining worlds.
Will this require a new plugin or a change to an existing one? If so, which one.
