New user wasn't in any channel

Please describe in detail the bug or issue.
So a new user couldn't talk in chat as he had a message "You're not in a channel" and had to pm me to ask how to get to a channel.

Evidence:
Didn't get the time to ask for screenshots, as the user disconnected some time after resolving the issue.

This has been resolved and should be working fine now.
