1.8 PvP to be made the server PvP over the current 1.9

Explain in detail what you are suggesting:
I am suggesting that the hit delay be removed so we can have 1.8 PvP instead of the vanilla 1.9 PvP. This will mean PvP will play out as it does on 1.8

What are the benefits of your suggestion for the server?
I have spoken to a few people from various nations who see this as a change for the better. It will dramatically increase the skill gap meaning practice pays off more and I believe that this will be an overall benefit. Another benefit is this would be more compelling and exciting in big battles.

With the current system, it is very hard to kill someone in a team fight as more often than not, they will have teammates there to protect them if they're low. The risk of this with 1.8 PvP is lower as it enables more combos and lowers the TTK (Time to kill). This will encourage nations' military power to work on their teamwork in order to ensure that optimal communication takes place.

Will this require a new plugin or a change to an existing one? If so, which one.

1.8 is much, much more skill based, than it's 1.9 counterpart. It also has a lower "gateway" of entry, so to speak, yet a higher skill cap. As you don't need to learn mechanics like timing, and criticals to be just serviceable in 1.8, yet there are many optional things to learn about 1.8, that makes puts you above the rest.

1.8 pvp is simply superior to 1.9 in every possible way. In pvp, there are certain elements that make it fun and exciting, giving you that dopamine and adrenaline that you play these games for.

- Excitement
- Danger
- Skill
- Potential for strategy/teamwork

1.8 has a lower time to kill, like Breezified mentioned above, which keeps players on their toes, satisfying the excitement and danger prerequisite. Also, being kept on your toes all the time means that you will constantly be practicing, improving, which leads to a high skill cap. Finally, in order to be the best, you will strive to strategize and work with a team.
None of this is satisfied with 1.9 pvp. It's repetitive, monotonous, and robotic. And while it's not to say there's no skill involved, the biggest thing about 1.9 pvp is numbers, while in 1.8 pvp a team could win a 5v15 if the skill on the team of 5 greatly outdid the skill of the 15. In 1.9 pvp, there is none of this.

+1, 1.9 PvP is a lot less skill-based, and less flexible in terms of what you can do. CPS is now practically useless, meaning you can't butterfly or jitter click (an element of skill now completely gone), and stuff like w-tapping and combos in general are a lot less effective as knockback is lessened. PotPvP is a lot worse (and longer), due to natural health regen being buffed and potion throwing working differently.

Instead of 1.8 PvP, where managing your potions, inventory and armour is key to winning a fight, 1.9 is essentially crit hitting people until they quickdrop.

At this time we will not be changing PvP mechanics for multiple reasons, one of which being that 1.8 PvP is easy, the only actual skill that it requires is being able to mash your buttons faster than the person you are fighting. There is no real strategy behind it, none of it is realistic. Instead I think from an RPG standpoint, and honestly a strategy standpoint having to time your swings, and plan your movements is a far better option.

Locked, and denied.
